The prosecutor's office commented on sending the killer of Posadskaya's little daughter to a psychiatric hospital.

      The press service of the Sverdlovsk Region prosecutor’s office described the circumstances of the killing of a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter by a resident of Yekaterinburg who was recognized as mentally ill.

      Recall that on Monday, October 6, 2025, the Sverdlovsk Regional Court issued a ruling on the application of a compulsory medical measure in relation to a man born in 1993, who had thrown his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter from the fifth floor.

      During the court proceedings it was established that as early as October 2023, while in an apartment in the Chkalovsky district of Yekaterinburg, the man systematically inflicted beatings on the child with particular cruelty for what he considered improper behavior, in order to achieve her unconditional obedience. While torturing his daughter he was aware that, due to her age, she was in a helpless state, the prosecutor’s office noted.

      Furthermore, on December 30, 2023, while intoxicated in an apartment in the Verkh-Isetsky district of Yekaterinburg, the man grabbed his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter and threw her off the balcony of the fifth floor. The girl’s death occurred at the scene a short time later from a closed head injury with resulting traumatic cerebral edema.

      In addition, on December 30, 2023, the man, pressing the blade of a knife to her throat, demanded that his wife, employed as a sales cashier in a store, take 100,000 rubles from the cash register and hand it over to him. The woman managed to break free and run away. He also committed a robbery against a man in the Verkh-Isetsky district of Yekaterinburg, stealing money and property from him totaling more than 170,000 rubles.

      The man is charged with committing socially dangerous acts prohibited by criminal law that fall under the elements of the crimes provided for in subparagraphs “v” and “d” of part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of a minor who was manifestly helpless to the perpetrator, with particular cruelty), subparagraphs “g” and “d” of part 2 of Article 117 of the Criminal Code (torture of a person known to be a minor, manifestly helpless to the perpetrator, materially or otherwise dependent on the perpetrator, with particular cruelty), Article 156 of the Criminal Code (improper fulfillment of parental duties in raising a minor, if this act is combined with cruel treatment of the minor), subparagraph “v” of part 2 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code (extortion with the use of violence), and part 3 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code (robbery with the use of items employed as weapons, with unlawful entry into a dwelling).

      According to expert conclusions, the man suffers from a chronic mental disorder.
