A road incident in which a minor pedestrian was injured occurred on Sunday, October 5 on Shchorsa Street, the Russian Traffic Police in Yekaterinburg reports.
The accident happened at 18:20 near the building at 109 Shchorsa Street.
According to preliminary information, the driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer, while driving on the yard premises, struck a 7-year-old child who ran out from behind a stationary vehicle on the left.
With a leg injury the injured boy was taken to City Children’s Clinical Hospital No. 9. His mother told police that the children were heading out for a walk with her. Unexpectedly for her, her son decided to run across the road to the playground without ensuring his safety.
The vehicle was driven by a 54-year-old man, a resident of Yekaterinburg, who has 31 years of driving experience. He had no prior administrative sanctions. An examination for intoxication showed that the man was sober.
