
Residents of Sverdlovsk Oblast are complaining en masse about the lack of mobile internet.
Residents of Yekaterinburg and the nearby suburbs are reporting widespread interruptions to mobile internet service among subscribers of the operator "Motiv."
The first reports of outages appeared at around 11:00 on October 8. The internet has been down for more than an hour; in addition, users report difficulties making calls.
"Motiv's internet has been down for more than an hour, all contact phone numbers are disconnected, the website is not working," E1.RU reported.
In the operator's press service they told the media that the restrictions are related to an order issued to all mobile operators in Sverdlovsk Oblast.
"Telecom operators were instructed to temporarily restrict access to the internet due to the danger of a drone attack. 'Motiv' complied with the requirement and is suspending the provision of services until further orders," the company said.
Recall that today the government of Sverdlovsk Oblast reported that a number of enterprises in the region have introduced a precautionary response mode to the threat of a drone attack, involving the evacuation of their employees. Several enterprises in the city were evacuated today.
