It has become known how much heating in Sverdlovsk Oblast could actually become more expensive.
Every winter, heating becomes a trial not only for utility systems but also for household budgets. Even with unchanged tariffs, the cost of heat in apartments is felt more acutely. But residents of Sverdlovsk Oblast were suddenly promised once again that prices will rise. But by how much?
From 2025, residents of Yekaterinburg will have to pay a little more for heating in houses and apartments. Utility bills will increase by a maximum of 3%. The increase is linked to the city's transition to a new system — a heat-supply pricing zone.
The decision to switch was approved by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on January 20, 2025. From that moment the transition period began. At present, several companies supply hot water and heat in Yekaterinburg, and tariffs for each are set by the regional energy commission (REC). Among the largest suppliers are T Plus and KhimmashEnergo.
After the transition, the single heat supplier, according to preliminary data, will be the group of companies of PJSC T Plus, which includes JSC ETK, reports the portal E1.RU.
Back in the winter of 2025, information about the new system appeared on the T Plus website. It explained that the supplier will now bear greater responsibility to consumers, and the cost of heat will be calculated according to the “alternative boiler” principle. This means that tariffs will be formed taking into account investments in the construction and renewal of heating networks, and not only based on current costs.
According to company representatives, the shift to the new model will speed up the replacement of worn-out networks, reduce the number of accidents, and decrease the number of unplanned hot water and heating shutdowns.
As before, the maximum price for heat will be raised once a year within the limits set by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. “The increase in the payment for thermal energy will be based on the current tariff taking into account the established index — no more than 3%,” the press service of JSC ETK said.
For context — if a family currently pays, hypothetically, 926 rubles a month for hot water, after the increase the amount will rise to roughly 954 rubles, that is, by only 28 rubles.
