The installation of stops in Yekaterinburg may be delayed.
Yekaterinburg City Duma deputy Sergey Kozlov believes that transferring the authority to install stops to the districts will solve the problem of missing shelters. The only problem is that there is a catastrophic lack of funds to place them.
According to him, the Department of Consumer Market has not even provided the districts with data on the required number of new shelters. And this comes against the backdrop of the impending adoption of the 2026 budget.
Kozlov believes that amendments are likely to be adopted allowing the powers to install and improve stops to be transferred from the city administration to the prefecture level. The situation needs to be analyzed within a month to understand how many need to be installed in each district. The Department of Consumer Market called for the creation of a single contractor who would remove and install stop complexes.
— This year we were able to plan the installation of only 150 bus stop complexes and only after the amendments. Whether they will allocate money for 210 stops next year — I doubt it. Although there is a good chance that, through joint efforts, we will push for the necessary funds to be allocated, — EAN quotes Sergey Kozlov.
Earlier, a Yekaterinburg resident complained about the lack of a proper sidewalk near the "Zolotoy" bus station.
