On the afternoon of October 25, a huge queue formed at the entrance to the Southern bus station. According to eyewitnesses, the number of people was growing by the hour — the line stretched all the way to Chkalovskaya station.
The cause of the passenger congestion was a security checkpoint that must be passed before boarding. As the dispatcher of the Southern bus station explained in a conversation with an E1.RU reporter, travelers should arrive early to catch their bus.
A similar situation has been observed before. At that time eyewitnesses reported that long queues appear almost every Friday, when students travel home for the weekend. In summer, residents also repeatedly complained about large crowds at the Southern bus station.
