The Regional Energy Commission approved new heating tariffs in Yekaterinburg.

The regional energy commission approved a new heat tariff that will come into effect in December 2025. This was reported by the Signal Ural news agency.

The administration clarifies that these figures are an upper limit, not the actual amounts that will appear on bills. In other words, suppliers are not allowed to set a price above the established value.

The sharp increase is related to the switch to a new calculation system — the "alt-boiler" mechanism. It involves including an investment surcharge, the funds from which energy companies must direct toward modernizing heating networks and reducing costs. The final size of this surcharge will be determined in negotiations between the heat supplier T Plus and the city administration.

The mayor’s office assures that there will be no sudden jump in tariffs for the population. The October bills already reflect the increased figure approved back in the summer of 2025. Currently the average cost of heat in Yekaterinburg is about 2,200 rubles per Gcal. The new tariff approved by the commission will be in effect for only one month — December 2025. What tariff will be set for 2026 is not yet known — discussions are still ahead.
