In Nizhny Tagil, the police department moved into its own building after 30 years of operating out of a residential building.

The long-awaited housewarming took place at Police Department No. 20 of the Municipal Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Nizhnetagilskoye," the website of the Russian Interior Ministry reports. The staff of PD No. 20, which serves the Galyano-Gorbunovsky residential district, moved into their own two-story building.

The city police directorate managed to secure funding and begin renovating a previously allocated two-story building at 48 Proselochnaya Street. Its ceremonial opening took place on October 17.

The opening ceremony was attended by the chief of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region, Lieutenant General of Police Alexander Meshkov; the chief of the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Nizhny Tagil, Police Colonel Ibragim Abdulkadyrov; the city’s head, Vladislav Pinaev; and representatives of the Public Council.

Until then, the department had been squeezed into the ground floor of an apartment building on Druzhinina Street for more than 30 years. The previous conditions did not meet modern service requirements and made it difficult to carry out everyday official tasks.

The department’s approximately 60 employees received bright, comfortable offices, which has become an important step in creating decent working conditions and improving the quality of work, the Russian Interior Ministry notes.
