      Lidiya Alexandrovna Khudyakova was born on May 21, 1926, into a teacher's family in the village of Kazanskoye near Ishim (Tyumen Oblast). She came to Sverdlovsk after graduating from the history faculty of the Omsk Pedagogical Institute, having worked for four years after her studies as a history teacher at the College of Agricultural Mechanization in Ishim.

      In the Ural capital she became a party worker. She served as head of the propaganda department of the Chkalovsky district party committee. In 1972 she moved to the regional party committee (obkom), where she headed the culture department. With her active involvement, Sverdlovsk saw the establishment of the Theatrical Institute, the House of Cinema and the Actors' House, reports Yekaterinburg.rf.

      In 1984 she headed the Museum of Ural Writers, which was housed in the restored buildings of the old town quarter, and she led it for 20 years.
