A legendary doctor has died in Yekaterinburg.
A legend of Ural medicine has died: former head of the Sverdlovsk City Health Department, Margarita Mikhailovna Medvedeva. According to the Ministry of Health of Sverdlovsk Oblast, she was 101 years old.
Margarita Medvedeva dedicated her entire life to developing the region’s medical system and improving the quality of care for the residents of Sverdlovsk Oblast. Thanks to her initiatives and persistence, many modern medical facilities appeared in Yekaterinburg.
The deputy governor and Minister of Health of Sverdlovsk Oblast, Tatyana Savinova, noted that Margarita Mikhailovna’s death is a great loss for the region’s entire medical community.
“The head of the Sverdlovsk City Health Department, who steered it through the most difficult years, has passed away. She lived a life full of hardships, but an incredibly happy one — happy professionally. Thanks to her managerial courage and tirelessness, many medical institutions were established in Yekaterinburg. She retained her vitality until the end. She turned 101 on September 13,” Savinova said.
Margarita Medvedeva is called a person who forever changed the face of Ural medicine and became an example of devotion to the profession.
