In Yekaterinburg, they plan to install new "Rospechat" kiosks.

The head of the consumer market department of Yekaterinburg’s mayor’s office, Maksim Chaplygin, said that new Rospechat kiosks will be installed in the city. Entrepreneurs who, after participating in the auctions, signed seven-year lease agreements with the administration will have to order the structures according to the requirements approved by the city in October 2020.

"Contractors will be required to install new kiosks. We have a decree from October 2020 that sets out requirements for their appearance. Non-stationary retail outlets must comply with them," Ura.Ru quotes Chaplygin as saying.

In 2025 the mayor’s office planned to put 82 sites up for auction for the placement of kiosks of all types. At the end of September, 15 auctions for Rospechat kiosks had been completed; another 34 are expected by the end of the year. Agreements have been signed with four entrepreneurs, and the kiosks themselves will appear in the Zheleznodorozhny District. The other entrepreneurs are refusing to sign contracts, citing the low profitability of the business and the high cost of the lots (up to 250,000 rubles).

Earlier it was reported that amendments for kiosk owners are being prepared in Yekaterinburg.

Recall that the mass demolition of Rospechat kiosks in Yekaterinburg began in July 2025. A Rospechat representative said that the closure of kiosks selling newspapers and magazines in Yekaterinburg could turn into the closure of the press distribution network across the entire Sverdlovsk Region. It was also reported that the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade had been asked to allow Rospechat kiosks to remain in the city.
