      Type 1 diabetes typically affects children. Type 2 diabetes is common among adults. And while type 1 diabetes has signs that are hard to miss, type 2 diabetes can remain asymptomatic for a very long time.

      So how can you avoid missing this serious disease?

      It can be diagnosed by taking a blood glucose test. But, as doctors say, if your blood glucose is high-normal, you shouldn’t relax. You should definitely have a blood test for glycated hemoglobin and a general urine test for glucose.

      You should be concerned if your waist circumference increases. This may be a sign of prediabetes. Adult patients often complain of fatigue, which can also be a sign of prediabetes.

      Doctors advise undergoing regular medical check-ups, which help detect diabetes at early stages.
