The defense is asking that Nizhny Tagil resident Vladimir Alexandrov be acquitted; he was sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape and murder of an 11‑year‑old girl in August last year. “The sentence was appealed by the convict’s lawyer. In the appeal the defense insists that V. Alexandrov’s guilt has not been proven and asks that his client be acquitted,” the press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk Region said yesterday on its Telegram channel. Recall that on October 30 the Sverdlovsk Regional Court sentenced Nizhny Tagil resident Vladimir Alexandrov to life imprisonment and ordered him to pay 8 million rubles in moral damages.
