An associate professor of cultural studies from Donetsk State University gave a lecture at a technical college in Yekaterinburg.
Associate Professor of the Department of Cultural Studies at Donetsk State University and PhD in Art Studies Marina Malykhina delivered lectures in Yekaterinburg as part of the Znanie Society's lecture series, organizers reported.
The first lecture was held for the parents of students at the Ural Railway Technical College, the second at the Sverdlovsk State Children's Philharmonic for cultural sector employees.
With the students' parents, Marina Malykhina shared the secrets of public speaking. The lecturer spoke about the importance of developing soft skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication and teamwork.
The main emphasis of the talk was on explaining the key principles of public speaking. The lecturer also spoke about psychological techniques, acting skills, and offered several practical tips.
"The ability to speak convincingly and clearly is not an innate gift, but a skill that can and should be developed. In the lecture we discussed how, using simple techniques and constant practice to improve diction, articulation and the correct use of breathing, one can control the audience's attention and convey one's thoughts effectively," Marina Malykhina explained.
Her presentation at the Sverdlovsk State Children's Philharmonic was dedicated to the cultural history of Russia and the Donetsk People's Republic. Marina Malykhina spoke about the projects and programmes currently being implemented in the new region, as well as creative ensembles, theatrical productions and the music of local composers.
