A sharp rise in juvenile crime has been recorded in Pervouralsk this year. The head of the regional police headquarters, Alexander Meshkov, drew attention to this during his visit to the city police department. The relevant statistics were provided to us by the head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk Region, Valery Gorelykh.

According to the head of the Sverdlovsk Main Directorate, this situation has arisen due to shortcomings in preventive work with juveniles.
On all negative points, General Meshkov heard reports from the heads of the relevant units and set specific deadlines for eliminating the existing deficiencies. During the visit, the head of the Main Directorate also paid close attention to the state of material and technical support for personnel and familiarized himself with the conditions of service in the duty unit, where citizens who have suffered from criminal activity first turn for help in difficult moments. In addition, Alexander Meshkov took personal control of the situation regarding repairs to the police department building, which will require about 25 million rubles, Colonel Gorelykh noted.
Moreover, the number of traffic accidents caused by drivers jumped by 200% to 12 accidents. However, there is positive dynamics in certain categories of crime in the city. Criminal incidents committed by individuals with problems with the law decreased by 22.1% (359 cases).
Overall, the total number of crimes in the municipality decreased by 13.5% — to 1,182, including in the category of serious and especially serious crimes — by 14.4%, to 421.
