Meteorologists have reported whether Sverdlovsk residents should expect a real winter and snow in December.

      The coming December in Sverdlovsk Oblast will be warm. This was reported by the Ural Hydrometeorological Center, citing the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia.

      The average monthly temperature will be about 1°C above the climatic norm (usually from −11 to −14°C, and in the extreme north around −15 to −16°C). Precipitation is forecast at the level of average long-term values — about 21–36 mm, and in the mountainous areas of the southwest — 40–59 mm.

      Little precipitation is expected at the beginning of the month. Cyclones passing well away from the region — from the Arctic coast to central Siberia — will bring light snow on December 3 and on December 5–6.

      After the passage of a cold front, an anticyclone from the Novaya Zemlya area will move into the region, causing a short-lived cold snap on December 6–8: in the north and extreme east temperatures will fall to −15 to −20°C, and in the south and southwest to −8 to −14°C.
