The city of Sverdlovsk has ended free travel for children.
In Nizhny Tagil, free travel for schoolchildren will not be introduced. The local Duma considered the issue and concluded that the city budget has no funds for such a support measure, reports EAN.
For schoolchildren, as for pensioners, the existing benefit will remain — an 8-ruble discount. If fares remain the same, in 2026 schoolchildren will pay 20 rubles per trip instead of 28.
Earlier, the authorities of Sverdlovsk Oblast had discussed the possibility of extending free travel for schoolchildren to municipalities outside Yekaterinburg. However, it was noted that in the regional capital this measure became possible thanks to a system of gross contracts.
