New circumstances have been established in the traffic accident that occurred on the morning of December 1 in Novoutkinsk. There, the driver of a Ford Fusion fatally struck a 14-year-old schoolgirl at a pedestrian crossing.
— It was found that the 40-year-old driver of the Ford did not have a valid driver's license — its validity had expired. In addition, during an examination the driver showed signs of intoxication, — the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GIBDD) for the Sverdlovsk Region reported.
A forensic examination is being conducted.
A criminal case has been opened in connection with the accident under the charge “Violation of traffic rules causing death by negligence, committed by a person in a state of intoxication.”
The girl was walking with her peers along the road to the bus stop to take the bus to school. She died at the scene from the impact.
