In Yekaterinburg, a recently released prisoner was detained on a new charge less than an hour later.
In Yekaterinburg, thanks to the coordinated work of agencies, a convict who had been released from the colony was detained again in a terrorism case, the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region reported on Tuesday.
The interagency operation was carried out on November 17. The convict E., who was released from penal colony IK-10 (Yekaterinburg) at 10:15, was detained just five minutes after his release, at 10:20.
The basis for the detention was a decision by the investigative division of the FSB’s regional directorate to open a new criminal case four days before E.’s release under part 1.1 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inducement, recruitment, or otherwise involving a person in terrorist activity).
The detention was carried out by officers of the FSIN’s operational directorate in cooperation with the FSB of the Sverdlovsk Region. Security for the operation was provided by members of the FSIN’s special-purpose unit “Rossy.”
After the detention, the individual was taken to the investigative department of the FSB of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region.
