The project’s completion dates were postponed several times — originally the interchange was planned to open for Yekaterinburg’s 300th anniversary in 2023. During that time the project’s cost rose from 6.6 to 8.8 billion rubles.
There was also information that in Ufa the general director of AlmakorGroup LLC, Alexey Afonsky, was arrested. He is the contractor for the construction of the interchange at Kalina in Yekaterinburg. He is accused of fraud on a particularly large scale. The accused may face imprisonment of up to 10 years.
