Mobile vaccination sites in shopping centers in Yekaterinburg have closed.
Mobile flu vaccination sites located in shopping centers in Yekaterinburg have finished operating, reports KP‑Yekaterinburg. But there is still time to get vaccinated, the outlet writes.
Over the course of one and a half months, medical staff at the mobile vaccination points vaccinated almost three thousand people against the flu. They also offered vaccinations against other serious diseases there: diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis A and pneumococcal infection, the Sverdlovsk Region Department of Information Policy reported.
“In total, about 2.2 million people in the region have already been vaccinated against the flu. That is more than half of the region’s population. The most responsible turned out to be healthcare workers and teachers — among them the vaccination target has been met almost 100%. The figure is also good for children under 18 — about 75% have already been vaccinated,” said Alexander Kharitonov, the chief epidemiologist of the regional Ministry of Health.
Epidemiologists note that the region is entering a pre‑epidemic period for influenza, but there is still time to get the shot. However, you should be vaccinated when you are healthy yourself and there are no people with cold symptoms nearby, the outlet reminds.
It should be recalled that a month ago less than 40% of residents had been vaccinated against the flu, which greatly concerned doctors.
