A man who fell through the ice in Zarechny recorded a video from his snowmobile shortly before his death.

A man whose body divers are searching for in the waters of the Beloyarsk Reservoir posted a snowmobile video online shortly before his death, KP-Yekaterinburg reports.

It has emerged that 51-year-old Sergey Sapegin and 29-year-old Ilya Litomin were on the snowmobile that broke through the ice. The men were staying at one of the recreation bases in Zarechny, located right on the shore of the reservoir.

Rescuers from the Emergencies Ministry managed to pull only Sergey from the water. Unfortunately, an hour later the man died in intensive care, KP-Yekaterinburg writes.

Ilya has not been found yet. A few hours before the tragedy he posted a video of riding a snowmobile on his social media.

Judging by the deceased’s social media, he led an active lifestyle and was involved in sports, the publication writes.

The Zarechny rescue service said that the men went out to ride a snowmobile at night in a severe blizzard and, probably because of the snow, did not notice thin patches of ice.

According to SHOT, Sergey was the director of a construction company from Yekaterinburg. Ilya, a native of Vladimir Oblast, worked as a fitness trainer, was into powerlifting, and had previously spent some time working as a lifeguard on a beach.
