The transport prosecutor’s office in the Sverdlovsk Region is investigating the incident on the railway tracks.
According to preliminary information, in the area of Serov-Zavodskoy station on January 7 at about 1:00 p.m. the bogie of the last carriage of a suburban train traveling from Yekaterinburg to Karpinsk came off the rails (without overturning).
The incident did not result in any dangerous consequences. Train traffic on the section is being organized on auxiliary tracks, restoration work is underway, and the causes of the incident are being determined.
“The Serov transport prosecutor’s office has initiated an inspection into compliance with legislation on traffic safety and the operation of railway transport, and has taken control of ensuring the rights of the electric train’s passengers,” reports the Telegram channel “Ural Transport Prosecutor’s Office.”
