Two people were killed in vehicles traveling in opposite directions on the Achit–Myasogutovo road.

      Two people were killed, and two others, including a minor, were hospitalized in serious condition as a result of an accident that occurred on January 7 at the 55th kilometer of the Achit–Mesyagutovo highway (Krasnoufimsky District).

      Preliminarily, it was established that a 42-year-old driver of a Lada Priora, traveling from the village of Bugalysh toward Krasnoufimsk, crossed into the oncoming lane, where at that moment a KIA was traveling. As a result of the collision two people died — a 36-year-old passenger of the Lada Priora and the 42-year-old driver of the KIA, the State Traffic Inspectorate of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region reports.

      The driver of the Priora and his 12-year-old son were hospitalized in serious condition. They were not wearing seat belts, which contributed to their injuries. The deceased passenger, who was seated in the front passenger seat, had been wearing a seat belt. All three are residents of the Krasnoufimsky District.

      Traffic inspectors established that the driver of the Lada Priora had 14 years' driving experience and had been held administratively liable 22 times. He will be tested for intoxication at the place of hospitalization. The KIA driver lived in the city of Novy Urengoy (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug), had 22 years' driving experience and had been held administratively liable 65 times. She was wearing a seat belt.

      An investigation into the incident has been launched.

      Earlier, on January 5, a similar accident occurred near Nizhny Tagil. As a result of the Lada driver's crossing into the oncoming lane, a 74-year-old Lada passenger who was seated in the front seat was killed.
