Three young men were arrested in Yekaterinburg for raping a 15-year-old schoolgirl.

      The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg remanded three young men accused of the gang rape of a 15-year-old schoolgirl to pre-trial detention. The hearings were held behind closed doors.

      The accused are 23-year-old Eduard Shafikov, 25-year-old Elnar Gaan and 26-year-old Nikolai Silov. All three will remain in custody until March 11, Ura.Ru reports, citing its correspondent.

      They all hid their faces from the press. Shafikov said he does not agree with the charge. The incident itself occurred on the night of January 11 in an apartment on Akademika Bardina. At the time the 15-year-old schoolgirl had argued with her mother and left home; on the street she met a man she did not know who offered her a place to stay overnight. After she fell asleep, three men entered and raped the minor. Law enforcement detained Eduard on January 12; he identified his acquaintances.
