Deputy Kritsky proposed extending the metro to two different parts of Yekaterinburg simultaneously.
Vladimir Kritsky, a city Duma deputy and CEO of LSR. Real Estate — Ural, proposed building the Yekaterinburg metro on a combined scheme in two directions at once, Kommersant‑Ural writes. In his opinion, new terminal stations should appear in the Akademichesky district and at ZhBI.
He proposed making the second line a combined one: one terminal station in the Akademichesky district, the second at ZhBI, with a transfer station at the Opera Theatre or Vostochnaya.
Kritsky explained the need for a metro in the Akademichesky district by the absence of jobs there despite the large number of residents.
“Today the two most painful issues in the metro are Akademichesky — the population there is already very large, and, moreover, there are no places for employment. But we must not forget the older districts: the second metro line is VIZ — ZhBI, you can’t do without it,” he said on the air of the Fourth Channel.
According to him, the city is “doomed” to building a new line.
