FSB officers in Yekaterinburg detained teenagers who had been slashing migrants.

In Yekaterinburg, the investigation into a series of crimes — attacks on migrants and the preparation of terrorist acts — has been completed. The suspects were detained with the help of the FSB. Four young people aged 16–17 will stand trial. This was reported by the regional office of the Investigative Committee.

The accused, three of whom were participants in a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation, committed the crimes they are charged with in Yekaterinburg from March 2024 to January 2025. To do this, they moved through deserted areas and underground passages, the agency said.

Thus, in March and November 2024 the detainees attacked two migrants with knives, causing them grievous bodily harm. Investigators believe this was motivated by national hatred. In December 2024, two of them set fire to a police car on Chapaeva Street. The damage amounted to more than 700,000 rubles. This was classified as a terrorist act.

In January 2025, two of the accused manufactured an improvised explosive device and planned to test it. The young men were detained by FSB officers.

Earlier, the FSB carried out an experiment on Sverdlovsk residents, posing as recruiters.
