The governor of Tula named the cause of the tank car derailment.
The governor of Tula named the cause of the railway accident that occurred last night on the Zhdanka–Tovarkovo stretch of the Moscow Railway. There, recall, four empty tank cars derailed.
The preliminary cause of the tank cars' derailment was a drop in pressure in the brake pipe of one of the wagons, region head Dmitry Milyaev reported on his Telegram channel.
At about seven a.m. Moscow time the governor reported that long-distance train traffic had been restored. Suburban trains were running without delays from the outset.
"At present 31 cars of the damaged train have been cordoned off; they are being transported to Bogoroditsk station," Milyaev wrote during the night.
"Railway workers have fully completed restoration work on the Zhdanka–Tovarkovo section in the Tula region and have opened traffic on the second track. At present trains on the section are operating on both tracks in normal mode," the Moscow Railway Telegram channel reports.
