Food prices have risen again in Sverdlovsk Oblast.

In the Sverdlovsk Region in December 2025 prices rose by 0.55% compared with November. At the same time, the press service of the Ural Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia says that annual inflation fell — to 7.31%.

In December prices in the Middle Urals rose faster than nationwide: 0.55% versus 0.32%. Higher consumer activity and rising incomes during the pre‑New Year period allowed businesses to pass costs on to prices more actively. During this time tea, coffee, cheese, furniture, clothing, printed publications and household services became more expensive in our region than across the country as a whole.

Fruit and vegetable products increased in price first and foremost: cucumbers, potatoes, onions, carrots, beets and apples. Prices for bakery and confectionery products and meat products also rose in December. Producers passed on higher costs for electricity, wages and logistics to prices.

Prices for non‑food goods rose in December due to heightened pre‑holiday demand. Smartphones, laptops, televisions, smart watches, perfumes and cosmetics became more expensive. Tickets for theatres and cinemas also went up, reports the EAN publication.

Earlier it was reported that Russians were warned about a significant rise in food prices by the end of January.
