In the Urals, a teenager who killed a woman in an apartment building entrance escaped from house arrest.

      The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, has requested a report from the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee on the progress of the investigation into the murder of a woman committed in Nizhny Tagil by a 15-year-old teenager.

      Forty-seven-year-old Natalya Kiryanova was stabbed in the entrance of a building in the settlement of Gornouralsky on the evening of January 6, KP-Yekaterinburg reports. The victim underwent surgery, but five days later she died in hospital.

      The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Sverdlovsk Region confirmed media reports that the teenager who stabbed the victim had been detained, but the Prigorodny District Court of Nizhny Tagil, having considered the investigator’s motion to impose detention as a preventive measure, placed the accused in the murder case (part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) under house arrest.

      A week later the "arrested" person disappeared from his home; the search for him continued for five days. The teenager’s detention became known on January 19.

      "The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, A.I. Bastrykin, instructed the head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Sverdlovsk Region, B.V. Frantsishko, to report on the progress of the criminal case investigation and the circumstances established," the Sledkom Telegram channel said.

      On social media, residents of Nizhny Tagil write that Natalya Kiryanova left behind children.
