The "Saturday Against Cancer" with an oncologist has returned to Yekaterinburg's polyclinics.

The "Saturdays Against Cancer" have returned to Yekaterinburg's clinics. On Saturday the event ran from 09:00 to 15:00 at Polyclinic No. 2 (16 Bratyev Bykovykh Street).

The campaign is aimed at early diagnosis and prevention of cancer. Doctors recommend that everyone aged 30 and over monitor their cancer status, the press service of the Yekaterinburg mayor's office reports. This makes it possible to detect, or even entirely prevent, precancerous conditions.

As part of the Saturdays Against Cancer, medical consultations with an oncologist and a dermatologist were organized.

Participants in the "Saturday" received professional consultations on cancer awareness and underwent early detection of skin diseases and growths (dermatoscopy).

At the same time, at the clinic people could undergo medical screening: blood tests, smear sampling, fluorography, mammography, electrocardiography, and intraocular pressure measurement.

It should be recalled that the holding of "Saturdays Against Cancer" in Yekaterinburg was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Later, the city health department reported that cancer screening had been incorporated into the general medical screening because the tests conducted within them duplicated one another.

In October 2019 a "Saturday Against Cancer" was covered by a Uralweb correspondent. At that time the list of specialists did not include an oncologist.

In September last year Yekaterinburg hosted Russia's first "Night of Medical Screening."
