In the Sverdlovsk region, the number of cows has decreased by 9 thousand heads over the past year. This conclusion follows from the report of Sverdlovskstat. Thus, in February of last year, there were 115.1 thousand animals in the Middle Urals, while last month there were only 106.1 thousand left.
A significant reduction in livestock occurred in 2025, as at the beginning of December, there were 105.5 thousand cows in the region. Overall, the number of cattle decreased by 13 thousand heads from February 2025 to February 2026.
— As of the end of February 2026, compared to the same period in 2025, the number of sheep and goats in farms of all categories decreased by 7.9%, cows by 7.6%, and cattle by 5.1%, notes Sverdlovskstat.
