In the Urals, a verdict was announced for a teenager who attempted to kill a familiar girl in a field.
In Verkhnyaya Pyshma, a verdict was handed down to a minor accused of attempting to murder a young girl. This concerns a high-profile attack by a teenager in the village of Mostovskoye in September 2024 on his acquaintance.
In the evening, the then 15-year-old defendant, taking advantage of the absence of passersby, brutally beat a 13-year-old girl. He threw a stone at her head, then knocked her to the ground, began to strangle her, and delivered multiple blows with his hands and feet. After that, he dragged the victim into a forest area and fled the crime scene.
Meanwhile, the girl's relatives noticed her absence. A search for the missing girl was launched. A few hours later, the girl was found. Despite the severe injuries she sustained, including an open cranial injury, her life was saved.
Together with the whole village, the defendant searched for the missing girl whom he had left to die in the woods. According to "Komsomolskaya Pravda - Yekaterinburg," the victim was his neighbor.
During her search, he kept himself apart from the main group and suggested that it might be a maniac, said the official representative of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region, Colonel Valery Gorelykh.
At the court hearing, the defendant, who was already 17 years old at the time of the verdict, partially admitted his guilt. "He did not dispute the factual circumstances but insisted that he did not intend to kill the victim," reported the unified press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk region.
The convicted mistakenly believed that the victim had died, reported the agency EAN, citing the assistant head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region, Maxim Chalkov.
The Verkhnyaya Pyshma City Court found the defendant guilty of attempting to murder a minor (part 3 of article 30, paragraph "b" part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sentenced him to 4 years and 10 months in a correctional colony. Additionally, the court ordered compensation for moral damages in the amount of one million rubles in favor of the victim. The verdict will enter into legal force within 15 days unless appealed by the parties.
