The Revda farmer, who was found with pig heads, may be charged with theft.
A farmer from Revda, suspected by local residents of slaughtering pigs that previously belonged to him, faces charges under the theft article. This was reported to the 66.RU portal by the well-known Yekaterinburg lawyer Sergey Kolosovsky.
Anatoly Lutkov could face up to six years in prison for theft, as the pigs are no longer his property, the lawyer explained to 66.RU.
A criminal case can be initiated even without a statement from the new owner of the herd. However, the farmer's guilt still needs to be proven.
If the former owner's guilt in the theft of the pigs is proven, the penalty will depend on the value of the stolen property.
"If it exceeds 250,000 rubles, then the maximum punishment is up to six years in prison. If the value of the pigs is less, then corrective or community service," Kolosovsky explained.
Recall that in November 2025, the Revda City Court ordered the confiscation of the pigs from Lutkov and their transfer to another owner, a peasant farm, until Lutkov puts the maintenance and grazing of the animals in order. Before this, the pigs roamed freely around the city and, after numerous media publications, became so associated with Revda that local residents jokingly suggested placing a pig on the city's coat of arms.
However, the story took a dramatic turn the day before. Eyewitnesses reported that severed pig heads were found on the farmer's property. People speculated that instead of transferring them to another owner, Anatoly decided to slaughter the herd.
