Quarantine for pasteurellosis is in effect in a single municipality of Sverdlovsk
March 20, 2026. Restrictions on the export of raw milk from the Sverdlovsk region have been lifted in 24 municipalities. Decisions on the possibility of exporting raw materials beyond the region are made by the Rosselkhoznadzor, reports the Department of Information Policy of the Sverdlovsk region.
In the past week, restrictions on the export of raw milk have been lifted in another 9 municipalities of the Sverdlovsk region. A mandatory two-stage vaccination of livestock in such cases has been completed for 100% of the animals. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Sverdlovsk region reminded that the quarantine was introduced on February 11 only in one municipality due to the detection of a single case of pasteurellosis. No new quarantine restrictions have been imposed in the region since then.
The restrictions introduced to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of citizens apply only to the export of raw milk.
Specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the region are in constant communication with the Rosselkhoznadzor, milk producers and processors, as well as retail chains. By order of Governor Denis Pasler, enterprises in the Sverdlovsk region increased the acceptance of raw materials after the introduction of temporary restrictive measures on milk exports.
Since February 11, dairy plants in the Sverdlovsk region have been processing an average of 2,112 tons of milk daily instead of 1,580 tons, an increase of 33.67%. All dairy processing enterprises in the Sverdlovsk region are operating normally, and their products are being exported from the region.
To stabilize the situation in the dairy market, federal retail chains have increased the presence of dairy products from local factories on their shelves.
