Mayakovsky Park in Yekaterinburg will get rid of "homemade" feeders.
The Mayakovsky Park addressed visitors through its social media pages with a request not to install makeshift bird feeders in the park.
First of all, this refers to feeders that are screwed to trees with self-tapping screws and chains.
"We appreciate your desire to care for the birds, but we ask you to treat nature more gently:
— do not harm the bark of trees with self-tapping screws and nails;
— do not make 'dining rooms' for birds out of plastic and cardboard;
— remember about the ecology and aesthetics of the park," the message on the Central Park's page on VKontakte states.
"We will have to dispose of unsafe birdhouses," park staff warned.
The best option for a feeder is a lightweight wooden structure that does not create extra load on the branches of trees and fits into the natural landscape, the authors of the message noted.
However, in the comments, users disagreed with the park administration, stating that, in their opinion, they should hang their own feeders before removing others. "So you should hang feeders according to your requirements, and people will fill them with food," one reader expressed the general opinion.
