      In the Sverdlovsk region, the first victims of ticks have appeared: two in Yekaterinburg, one in Nizhny Tagil.

      — Two Yekaterinburg residents who visited garden plots in Shartash and in the Sysert municipal formation, and a child in Nizhny Tagil were affected, the Rospotrebnadzor for the Sverdlovsk region reported.

      The agency reminded about preventive measures. Thanks to this, one can avoid infection with dangerous diseases carried by ticks. During walks in the forest, it is necessary to protect the body and head with special clothing and use repellents. After going outdoors, it is important to carefully inspect oneself. If a tick has bitten, one should immediately go to a trauma center.

      Earlier, information emerged that in Russia, there is an increasing spread of giant mutant ticks of the Hyalomma genus, which inhabited Asia and Africa. These arthropods do not sit in the grass waiting for a victim but actively pursue it. Their speed of movement is several times higher than that of ordinary ticks, and conventional repellents have a weak effect on them, reports the publication EAN.
