The governor of the Sverdlovsk region announced important news regarding public transport in Yekaterinburg.
In Yekaterinburg, one of the key stages of public transport modernization has been completed - the city has fully updated its trolleybus fleet. This was announced by the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Denis Pasler.
The renewal work has been ongoing since 2023. During this time, 55 new trolleybuses with increased autonomous range have arrived in the regional capital. It is expected that they will fully meet the city's needs for this type of transport and enhance passenger travel comfort.
Yekaterinburg has the largest public transport fleet in the region, with a significant portion of the rolling stock not being updated for a long time and in need of replacement.
At the same time, the tram fleet is being updated. By the end of the year, the city will receive the largest delivery in the last 30 years - 50 three-section trams. They are planned to be deployed on the busiest routes.
In addition, in 2026, the region will purchase more than 200 buses of various classes. Of these, 105 units are intended for Yekaterinburg, while the rest will go to municipalities where there is a need for transport renewal, including Kamensk-Uralsky, Shalya, Talitsa, and Turinsk.
