The timelines for the start of the design of the metro and tram line in the new district of Yekaterinburg have been announced.
The authorities of Yekaterinburg have outlined the timelines for the preparation of two major infrastructure projects - a new metro line and a tram line to the Novokoltsovsky microdistrict. This was reported by the first deputy head of the city, Rustam Galyamov, in an interview with "Signal Ural."
According to him, a competition for the development of a feasibility study (FS) for the construction of new metro stations is planned to be announced in the coming weeks. The results of this work are expected by the end of the year - they will help determine the priority line based on passenger flow and the optimal route.
As for the tram line in the rapidly developing Novokoltsovsky area, the project planning has already been approved. According to preliminary estimates, the project could move to the design stage next year.
At the same time, there are still some technical difficulties, including the need to purchase land plots and organize crossings with Koltsovsky Tract. Nevertheless, the city hall believes that these issues are solvable.
