"Acted intentionally." The criminal case of the skier who beat a teenager on the Uktus slope has been sent to court.
April 14, 2026. The criminal case against Yekaterinburg resident Yakov Shusharin, accused of a hooligan attack on a teenager on the ski slope of the "Uktus" complex, has been forwarded to court, the press service of the Sverdlovsk region prosecutor's office reported on Tuesday.
The indictment against the 1987-born Yekaterinburg resident was approved by the prosecutor's office of the Chkalovsky district of Yekaterinburg. According to the investigation, on January 17 of this year, the 13-year-old victim accidentally knocked down the accused's wife while skiing down the mountain. After that, Shusharin, "using this as a pretext, without clarifying the circumstances of the incident, intentionally, grossly violating public order, in the presence of third parties, applied violence to the minor." He struck the teenager at least 11 times on the body and head, accompanying his actions with threats of violence and coarse obscene language.
As a result of the accused's intentional actions, the victim sustained a closed traumatic brain injury (including a concussion), skin contusion, a hematoma in the right temporal area, a fracture of the right nasal bone, abrasions, soft tissue swelling in the area of the bridge of the nose, soft tissue swelling in the frontal area on the right, and swelling of the mucous membrane of the nasal conchae with impaired nasal breathing.
These injuries caused moderate harm to the teenager's health.
The man is charged under paragraph "a" of part 1 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism, with the use of violence and the threat of its use against citizens), subparagraphs "b" and "d" of part 2 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of moderate harm to health, committed against a minor, out of hooligan motives).
The criminal case has been sent to the Chkalovsky District Court of Yekaterinburg for substantive consideration.
Recall that after his arrest, Shusharin claimed he was defending his loved ones and did not know he was hitting a minor. As reported, he does not admit his guilt. The accused's family also blamed the victim for the incident and claimed that Shusharin hit him "unintentionally."
