The "Ford Explorer" crashed into a stationary truck with a semi-trailer in Yekaterinburg, with the driver and passenger taken to the hospital, the State Traffic Inspectorate of Yekaterinburg reported on its Telegram channel.
The accident occurred in the Oktyabrsky district of Yekaterinburg on Monday, April 13, at 23:36.
Preliminary findings indicate that on the 15th kilometer of the Siberian Highway Bypass, the "Ford Explorer," traveling on the road from Tyumen towards Yekaterinburg, failed to maintain constant control of the road and collided with a stationary "Scania" truck with a "Schmidt" semi-trailer.
As a result of the accident, the driver, a 53-year-old native of the city of Sukhoi Log, and his 31-year-old passenger (who was in the left rear passenger seat at the time of the accident) were taken to GKB No. 36 by an ambulance crew.
The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old man, was not injured.
An investigation into the accident is underway. State Traffic Inspectorate officers conducted measurements at the scene and appointed necessary examinations.
The State Traffic Inspectorate draws drivers' attention to the inadmissibility of operating a vehicle while fatigued. The chosen speed and driving mode must ensure the driver can maintain constant control of the vehicle.
