A reckless driver in a Lexus has been arrested for failing to pay a fine, the press service of the Sverdlovsk region courts reported the day before.
"The magistrate of judicial district No. 1 of the Railway judicial area of Yekaterinburg held the driver of the Lexus, Dmitry Garensky, administratively liable. A protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up against the man by the State Traffic Inspectorate under part 1 of article 20.25 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (Evasion of execution of an administrative penalty - note Uralweb.ru).
Previously, the driver was fined 500 rubles for an offense provided for in part 1 of article 12.5 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (Driving a vehicle with malfunctions or under conditions in which the operation of vehicles is prohibited, or a vehicle on which a "Disabled" identification sign is illegally installed - note Uralweb.ru)," the court's press service stated. "Garensky admitted his guilt."
The court recognized the repeated commission of the offense as an aggravating circumstance and imposed a penalty of 5 days of administrative arrest.
The court ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
Garensky came to the attention of law enforcement after a traffic accident on Cosmonauts Avenue, in which a young woman died and her small child was injured, the regional court's press service noted. "A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the police regarding this incident."
