The Corporation for the Development of the Middle Urals (KRSU) has selected a contractor for the construction of a microchip factory for drones "Karat" in Yekaterinburg. The contract worth 2.3 billion rubles was awarded to the company "Akonstrans."
According to information from State Procurement, the contractor reduced the initial price by 60 million rubles. The only competitor (the company "Complex Engineering") was rejected due to non-compliance with the application requirements.

The facility is planned to be located in the area of Universiade, Olympic, and Expo Boulevards. In 2026, the contractor is expected to carry out design and survey work, and complete construction by the end of 2027.
It was previously reported that the factory will occupy an area of 15,000 square meters and will be equipped with modern Russian equipment, ensuring a full cycle of technological operations. A crystal design center will also be located on its territory.
