The hockey club "Avtomobilist" terminated the contract with forward Reid Boucher at the player's initiative. This was reported by the club's press service on Thursday, April 16.
At the end of January, the 32-year-old forward flew to the USA for his brother's wedding and did not return afterward, reports 66.RU. The club explained the player's absence from matches due to family reasons until they published a "road map" the day before.
According to the publication "Sport-Express," Boucher was the highest-paid player at "Avtomobilist." He earned 90 million rubles a year in the Yekaterinburg club (which is more than 1,960,000 dollars at today's exchange rate).
Boucher played 43 matches for "Avtomobilist" in the 2025/2026 season, scoring 42 points (17+25). In December 2025, the American was recognized as the best forward of the month in the KHL. The rights to the hockey player in the KHL are still held by "Avtomobilist."
