Former Minister of Agriculture and Food of Udmurtia Mikhail Yudin is accused of drug possession, reports "Ъ-Udmurtia". The ex-official also admitted to using them.
Mikhail Yudin was detained by police on April 14 on the highway in the Zavyalovsky district. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he was driving a Belgee vehicle while under the influence of drugs. Marijuana was found inside the vehicle.
Two administrative protocols were drawn up - for drug possession without intent to sell (Article 6.8 of the Administrative Offenses Code) and refusal to undergo a medical examination (Article 6.9 of the Administrative Offenses Code).
The former minister admitted to drug use.
For these administrative cases, Mikhail Yudin was sentenced to a total of five days of arrest. In addition, the ex-minister was required to undergo treatment for drug addiction.
A criminal case under Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation was initiated after searches conducted at his home - more than 10 grams of cannabis were seized, which is considered a significant amount, carrying a penalty of up to three years in prison, notes "Ъ-Udmurtia".
A preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave and proper behavior for 10 days was chosen for the defendant. If necessary, it can be extended.
No petitions for the detention of the former head of the republican Ministry of Agriculture have been submitted to the court.
Mikhail Yudin headed the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Udmurtia from February 2022 to May 2025. The minister resigned at his own request. Since January 2026, he has been the acting general director of the organization for the reproduction of cattle "Udmurtplem".
