The prosecution requested a sentence for former editor of "Ura.ru" Denis Allayarov.
On April 21, 2026, the prosecutor requested a 5-year sentence in a general regime colony for the former editor of "Ura.ru," Denis Allayarov. This was reported by "Kommersant-Ural" from the courtroom.
The judge asked the defendant why he had long denied his guilt in giving a bribe but later admitted it. The journalist replied that it was important for him that the court approached his case objectively and thoroughly investigated the circumstances. Moreover, during the initial interrogations, he was under stress, Denis Allayarov explained. Seeing that the court was proceeding impartially, he agreed with the charges previously brought against him.
Let us recall that the former head of the Sverdlovsk office of "Ura.ru," according to the investigation, transferred a total of 120,000 rubles to his uncle Andrey Karpov in 2024, who at that time held the position of head of the criminal investigation department of OP No. 10 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Yekaterinburg, in exchange for him sending closed official reports of incidents, for the subsequent writing of exclusive news based on them. This is confirmed by witness testimonies from colleagues of the former police officer.
The criminal case against Andrey Karpov was investigated separately, and he was sentenced to a suspended term. It was reported that the prosecutor appealed the verdict but later withdrew the appeal.
