April 21, 2026 The Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg on Tuesday, April 21, issued a ruling in the criminal case against former journalist of the information agency "URA.RU" Denis Allayarov. The verdict was announced by the prosecutor's office of the Sverdlovsk region.
Based on the evidence presented by the state prosecutor, the former deputy chief editor - regional editor of LLC "Siberian-Ural Media Company" (informational-analytical agency "URA.RU") Denis Allayarov was found guilty under part 3 of article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (giving a bribe to an official personally for committing knowingly illegal actions, in a significant amount), the prosecutor's office reported.
In accordance with the requirements of federal legislation and departmental orders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, operational information that constitutes another legally protected secret, including containing personal data of citizens and the secrecy of the investigation, is not subject to transfer to third parties.
The state prosecutor presented evidence that the accused contacted an employee of the criminal investigation department of OP No. 10 by phone, requesting daily operational reports from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Yekaterinburg in exchange for remuneration for subsequent publication of the information contained in them on the "URA.RU" website.
"The police officer agreed to this proposal. Acting according to the agreement, Allayarov from May 2024 to March 2025 paid a bribe totaling 120 thousand rubles for the illegal receipt of operational reports from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the head of the criminal investigation department of OP No. 10 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Yekaterinburg, both personally and by transferring funds to the bank cards of the police officer and his relatives, which he used himself," the supervisory agency reported.
The convicted person fully admitted his guilt in the incriminated act.
Witnesses for the prosecution - employees of OP No. 10 and Denis Allayarov's aunt - previously provided testimony incriminating the journalist. In turn, Denis Allayarov's mother testified in court that the defendant's uncle, at that time the head of the criminal investigation department of OP No. 10 Andrey Karpov, was preparing to go to the Special Military Operation, for which he allegedly asked them for a loan.
The court sentenced Denis Allayarov to 5 years in a general regime colony, with a fine of 1.2 million rubles, and deprived him of the right to engage in journalistic and publishing activities for a period of 4 years.
The convicted person's lawyer Mikhail Tolmachev previously told 66.RU that "URA.RU" expressed readiness to hire Denis.

A former police officer, a relative of the journalist whose criminal case was separated into a separate proceeding and investigated under paragraph "e" of part 3 of article 286 (Abuse of official powers for mercenary or other personal interest) and part 3 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Receiving a bribe by an official for illegal actions), concluded a pre-trial cooperation agreement, the press service of the Sverdlovsk region courts reported.
The Verkh-Isetsky District Court sentenced him to 4 years of conditional imprisonment, with a probation period of 4 years, and deprived him of the right to hold positions in public service in law enforcement agencies related to the exercise of functions of a representative of authority for a period of 3 years.
The court also stripped him of the special rank of senior lieutenant of police. The bribe amount of 120 thousand rubles was confiscated in favor of the state.
