In March, an 18-year-old student saw an advertisement on "VKontakte" for the sale of an iPhone 15 for 40,000 rubles. When she clicked on the link, she was redirected to Telegram, where after agreeing, she transferred the required amount.
— After the first payment, the buyer received a message from the "sellers" allegedly from the customs service, claiming that the phone was detained at the border. For further processing, an additional payment of 19,000 rubles is required, — clarified the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region.
Next, she was asked to transfer another 25,000 rubles for the preparation of accompanying documents. Only then did the student realize that she had become a victim of fraudsters and did not transfer any more money.
