In Koltsovo, a 23-year-old passenger was detained for smoking during the flight.
A passenger on a plane who was smoking a cigarette during the flight from Blagoveshchensk to Yekaterinburg was detained at Koltsovo Airport, reports the Transport Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Ural Federal District.
The message that a police unit was needed for the arriving flight from Blagoveshchensk was received by the transport police at the air harbor of the Ural capital on Monday, April 27. The reason for the call was the unlawful behavior of a passenger, a 23-year-old resident of Tyumen, who was returning home from a work shift with a layover in Yekaterinburg.
He could not endure six hours of flight without smoking and decided to discreetly smoke in the airplane restroom. However, smoke detectors were triggered, alerting the flight attendants about the smoker.
The detainee had no prior legal issues. The police apprehended the violator and took him to the duty station of the Leningrad Region Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at Koltsovo Airport.
Administrative protocols were drawn up against him under part 1 of article 6.24 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (Violation of the federal law prohibiting smoking tobacco, using nicotine-containing products, or using hookahs in certain areas, rooms, and facilities - note from Uralweb.ru) and under part 6 of article 11.17 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (Failure to comply with lawful orders of the aircraft commander by persons on board the aircraft - note from Uralweb.ru).
