On May 3, 2026, an 18-year-old resident of Polevskoy, Alexey, was behind the wheel of a Renault passenger car, in which four people died in an accident on the EKAD on May 1. The car belonged to his neighbor, reports "KP-Ekaterinburg."
According to preliminary data, Alexey stole the foreign car from his neighbor to take four underage friends for a ride: 15-year-old Nastya, 17-year-old Darya, and 16-year-olds Dasha and Kristina. The guy often visited the order pickup point in Polevskoy, where all four worked, reports "KP-Ekaterinburg."
Alexey had keys to the neighbor's car because he was supposed to repair it. However, he did not have a driver's license, the publication writes.
The last seconds of the girls' lives were captured on video. As it became known to "KP-Ekaterinburg," one of the girls posted the recording on social media a few minutes before the accident.

The tragedy occurred in the evening of May 1 at the 57th kilometer of the EKAD. Alexey drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a Toyota Camry, after which the passenger car was thrown under a MAN truck and an Opel vehicle. The Renault caught fire from the impacts. Alexey was pulled from the cabin, but he was already dead.
The eldest of the girls, 17-year-old Darya, flew out through the windshield. According to "Channel Four," the injured girl has burns and a pelvic fracture. She was hospitalized at DMB No. 9, and her condition is not commented on by the regional health ministry. The other girls burned in the cabin.
The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic rules resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence." On Monday, May 4, the parents of the deceased girls will be called for the identification of the remains.
